How to Rent ------There are three steps to Renting (first step can be skipped).

1) E-mail and make an offer, quantity makes a difference.

2) Pay the rental fee online using a credit card on the domain or on the rent page.

3) Email to your 2 active name servers that you will be using for your website/email at your web host. If you don't know what the name servers are just ask your web host to tell you what they are. The name servers will be text formatted like this example ( and and correspond to IP addresses at your web host. If you need us to host your website please contact us.

That is it. Your web host can now control your rented domain name from their hosting facility for both website and email. It generally takes the many DNS servers on the internet 24 to 48 hours for the domain name to be widely recognized with the new name servers.

Can I rent a or domain even if I am not in the U.S.?
Definitely! Anyone from any part of the world can sublease a domain name.

About Us                                                                                                           NamesRenter’s corporate goal is help companies to begin to use a multi-domain strategy as an effective way to increase website visibility. We focus on helping companies who already have a website to start using more than one domain name.

It is often appropriate for a business to utilize more than one domain name.

Multiple domain names can:

  • Lockout your competition from owning a domain name which will draw customers to them rather than you.
  • Be used to promote different products and services that you offer.
  • Drive more traffic to your web site.
  • Give you more opportunities to market to and be listed in search engines.
  • Be used to create distinct advertising strategies to reach different target markets.
  • Provide customers more ways to find you intuitively when searching for you on the internet.

Many business owners invest a great amount of time & money in building and promoting a website. But, if their customers can not remember the exact address they may end up at a competitor’s website. Business cards and brochures get lost or tossed. Search engines are great for exploring the internet. But often, lead potential customers through a maze of options and sometimes to your competition. An easy-to-remember domain name is the most effective way to lead visitors to your website.

When I rent from do I own the domain name?
When you rent a domain name you have the exclusive right to use the domain name . Even though you do not own the domain name, you can use our domain name in every way an owner would use it except you could not re-sell it (we have the rights for that).*

Can raise the price of my domain name?
When you rent a domain name you get our exclusive price guarantee
(1) the yearly sublease cost is $100 each and every year.

Does NamesRenter sell domain names?                                                                          Our focus is to rent domain names. That is why we make our rental price reasonable and affordable. Every offer will be looked at but it is doubtful that a 4 letter domain will sell for less than $4000.

Why a quality Web address is vital to website success?
location - location - location  You can build a great site, yet if your customers don't remember the exact address they may never see it. An easy-to-remember, descriptive domain name is a proven and sustainable web promotion tactic.

Why .com
has emerged as the prime location for commercial websites. Numerous studies demonstrate that web users commonly assume that a web address is, by default, a .com address. There are, of course a few exceptions, such as certain country-specific domains. For example, .fr may be used in France for a French company. However, when these companies wish to have a truly global presence, they also opt for launching a .com site.

The introduction of new generic or global top level domains (gTLD's) have also boosted the value of quality .com domain. Controversy and confusion surrounding new domain extensions have served to add simplicity, certainty and prestige to the long established .com domain space.

 Take out the guesswork.
Customers rarely remember a complicated domain name. Many users will try to guess a web address by typing descriptive terms for a product or service into their browser, followed by .com. In any case, when a customer is looking for a product or service online, you want them to find your website. A great domain name is a key asset and primary foundation of any successful site.

IP Pointing

If your website has a static IP address you can set this so that visitors to your domain will load this website. As they click through the site filenames and subdirectories will display after your domain in their browser.

Name server designation:                                             Notify us of your two active DNS server names and we will set to those nameservers for you. Nameservers are machines on the Internet which convert domain names into numerical addresses that computers can understand.

What if my company already has a domain name?
This is an advantage. You can "point" more than one domain to your website. Many companies promote multiple Internet addresses. For example, a specific company or brand domain ( should often be marketed together with an easy-to-remember, more simple or descriptive .com web address ( This is ideal if your company name is long, difficult to spell or does not enjoy global name recognition in all target markets. It is also a great way to promote specific product groups and is an important strategy in search engine optimization. . Additionally, keyword-rich domains will boost rankings on major search engines.

Even if you have a principal website that is already generating good traffic, by adding quality another domain name, you can add more "entry doors" to your business.  Additional domain names can forward its visitors right to your front door (without ever being noticed by the visitor, because it all happens in milliseconds). can help you "point" or "forward" one or more domain names to your website. An interesting example of this concept is from P&G one of America ’s premier marketing companies: The Procter & Gamble's website can also be accessed via:,,, and through over 100 other domain names.

Why rent a domain name?
It is often difficult and expensive to acquire the ideal domain name. Renting a domain is much less expensive and makes sense where the owner of the name allows continual renewals at the same lease price and transfers all the uses of the domain except ownership. Many companies are serious about doing business on the Internet and want to make a professional impression on those who visit your site. When they can lease a domain that creates web presence and name recognition of the company it is a special advantage. Renting multiple domains is ideal if your company name is long, difficult to spell or does not generate traffic on its own.
